On June 9, the caustic soda unit of Qilu Petrochemical Chlor-Alkali Plant has completed 70% of the civil engineering work for the first saltwater energy-saving renovation, with construction strictly advancing according to the green environmental protection plan, striving to create a benchmark for green grassroots.

At the beginning of the grassroots creation work, the Chlor-Alkali Plant established a leadership group led by the manager and the party secretary, clarifying responsibilities and tasks, improving performance assessment methods based on the concepts of clean, efficient, low-carbon, and circular green development, and defining energy-saving and environmental protection goals.

The grassroots creation workshop has established an Organizational Chart composed of key personnel from the workshop, utilizing time such as shift learning and morning and evening scheduling meetings to actively promote clean production through presentations and emails. Ensuring a clean production process with low cost, low consumption, and high resource utilization, producing high-quality products, "green" products, and environmentally friendly products.

The electrolysis workshop of the Chlor-Alkali Plant continues to optimize device operation, saving energy and reducing consumption. Daily energy-saving inspections are continuously carried out on-site to eliminate leaks and the "little white dragon" phenomenon, reducing device energy consumption. They repeatedly optimize the salt dissolution operation, controlling the coarse saltwater temperature between 55 and 60 degrees Celsius to reduce steam consumption. Properly controlling the flow rate and temperature of the denitration device's lean nitrate solution to reduce heat loss of recycled materials.

In the first five months of this year, the unit's raw salt consumption has met the target every month, and the total steam consumption of the unit has decreased by 1,352 tons compared to the same period last year.

They have improved emergency drill records, which include summaries, evaluations, existing problems, and improvement measures, ensuring that existing problems are rectified. Every quarter, they organize a tabletop drill for employees, with complete and thorough records.

The workshop has repaired and treated the damaged parts of the site drainage ditch according to the environmental protection requirements of "rainwater and sewage diversion, clean and sewage diversion." After the project was put into use, the unit's wastewater achieved the goal of "rainwater and sewage diversion, clean and sewage diversion," meeting environmental protection requirements. Currently, the rainwater and sewage diversion system facilities in the electrolysis workshop are intact, with normal switching between rainwater and sewage, and relevant records are complete.

The energy-saving technical renovation of the caustic soda unit's first saltwater is a key project for the plant. During the construction process, they strictly implement relevant safety and environmental protection requirements, enforce control measures to ensure that no safety or environmental protection accidents occur. As the construction takes place in summer with high temperatures, to ensure construction safety, they reasonably arrange the on-site construction time and content, reducing or stopping the use of fire and high-risk operations during high-temperature periods, extending morning working hours, and delaying afternoon construction to start after 2 PM, strengthening evening construction management, and assigning workshop personnel to be responsible for construction management during evening overtime to ensure construction safety and timely completion of the energy-saving renovation project.
